Women's first team move joint-top after 3-0 triumph over Ardoi

The Eibar ladies currently top the league standings alongside Logroño after Athletic B suffered a slip-up.

The Eibar Women's first team racked up another victory as they ran out 3-0 winners over Ardoi in the sides' Matchday 6 encounter, a triumph which sees the Armeras move joint top of the league.

Eibar played host to rock-bottom Ardoi and the hosts produced a dominant display in which they never afforded the visitors any hope of pulling off a shock. After firing in a warning shot in the opening exchanges with an effort that sailed high over the bar, Idoia Agirre struck in the 37th minute to put Eibar into the ascendancy.

The Armeras continued to boss proceedings and made their dominance tell as they carved out a number of chances. With 67 minutes on the clock, Idoia was on hand to double the hosts' advantage, before Sara Tazo fired home to further extended Eibar's lead and round off the scoring.

This win propels Xuban Peña's ladies up into second spot and level on points with Logroño CDEF at the summit. Athletic B, who had been in pole position up until the previous round of fixtures, slip down to third and a point off the pace after they succumbed in their derby clash against San Ignacio.

On account of the international break, Eibar don't now have a league fixture for another two weeks,  when once again they're in action at home, with the ever-tricky Aurrera de Vitoria the visitors.
