Women's first team hit injury-time winner to take the spoils

The Armeras came from behind to seal a 2-1 victory over Añorga

Eibar Women's first team struck a last-gasp winner as they came from behind to claim a fine win against Añorga at Unbe. The Armeras trailed to Añorga's opener but hit back courtesy of goals from Sara and Melani.

During the opening 15 minutes, the Armeras struggled to get into any sort of rhythm as Añorga dominated the early stages, without ever managing to create any clear-cut chances.

Añorga had plenty of the ball in their own half, a situation the Armeras were comfortable with, given that the visitors were posing no threat on the home goal. Añorga forged ahead when a foray down the flank saw the ball played across into the Eibar area, where a visiting striker was on hand to head home.

With just two minutes of the first half remaining, Sara Tazo tricked her way past three defenders, before firing home to send the sides in level at the break.

The second half followed a similar script, with the visitors enjoying possession in their own half and the Armeras applying the high press. After regaining possession on a number of occasions, Eibar carved out several openings, which were either scuppered by the visitors' goalkeeper or saw the hosts fail to find the target.

The visitors began to play on the counter-attack and fashioned some chances of their own as they looked to regain the lead. However, with the game into injury time, Melani got on the end of an Ainhoa Alonso corner to send the ball into the net and seal a sweet and priceless victory for Eibar.
