We're really keen to put in a good display in front of our fans

After training, Peña took to the press room to address the media.

Following on from last Friday's league opener, the Armeros squad are looking forward to Saturday's clash against Valencia at Ipurua. After training, Rubén Peña spoke to the media to reflect on the side's first game of the season: "We came away after the defeat in A Coruña feeling as if we could have got something from the game, we were the better side up until the equaliser. That's in the past now and Saturday's match will be a great game". When quizzed about coach José Luis Mendilibar's reaction to the performance at Riazor, Peña revealed that, "The gaffer highlighted the areas in which we need to improve, we have to take his ideas on board. We've got the same coach as we had last season, with exactly the same ideas, desire and ambition to do a good job".

Saturday sees Ipurua play host to its first game of the new campaign with one of the stands still undergoing building work, which prevented the team from staging any pre-season games at the ground, a fact referred to by Peña, "In the end we weren't able to play any of our pre-season games at home because of the building work, but we know that it's in the club's interests, as it looks to improve. We're really keen to put in a good display in front of our fans. I think that all of the games are important, just as trying to getting the three points is. What we want is to be ambitious and to be as high up the table as possible".

Speaking ahead of Saturday's game against Los Che, Peña remarked, "Valencia are one of the sides that you want to beat in La Liga, they're one of the top clubs in the division, they aren't achieving the sort of levels of consistency they'd like, but if we aren't on it they're capable of hurting us. They're a strong outfit, but we too are a good side and on our day we can beat anyone".
