Veterans from the Eibar team will play a United Nations tournament against racism and discrimination

The competition will be held in Nyon (Switzerland) on 2 July

The team of SD Eibar veterans will take part next 2 July, in the Swiss municipality of Nyon, in the first edition of an international tournament against racism and discrimination organised by the United Nations in collaboration with Stade Nyonnais and the UEFA.

The tournament is promoted by the United Nations football club and will also include the participation of Stade Nyonnais, a UEFA team and the SD Eibar veterans.

The 11-a-side football competition will be disputed in the all-against-all format with 30-minute matches, with a subsequent final and a match for the 3rd place.

Coinciding with this tournament, the armeros will attend several cultural activities such as a visit to the Palace of Nations in Geneva and to the old city of Geneva, as well as to a typical Swiss lunch.

The tournament organisers have highlighted the importance of Eibar’s participation, “which represents an exemplary town, hard-working and innovative”.

The promoters intend to organise the tournament in subsequent years “with the presence of teams that represent big international clubs”.
