SD Eibar Women make eight new signings ahead of Second Division campaign

The squad is set to be completed with further additions over the coming days

SD Eibar Women, who compete in the Women's Second Division, have, to date, made eight new signings.
The majority of last season's squad remain at the club, whilst for a series of different reasons Irati Lazkano, Yaiza Fernandez and Ariane Zabala have departed. The first five new additions are Sara Tazo, Usoa Montoya, Mar Luzuriaga, Irati Uriarte and Ane Atristain.

  • Sara Tazo (midfielder) 23-year-old Sara spent nine seasons at Second Division side Aurrera de Vitoria and was part of the Under-17s squad who represented Spain at the 2010 World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago.
  • Usoa Montoya (defender). Usoa, 25, also joins the club from Second Division side Aurrera de Vitoria, where she was a part of their first team for eight seasons. She was also a regular fixture in the youth sides of the Basque national team.
  • Mar Luzuriaga (forward). 19-year-old Mar has turned out for various Basque League sides throughout her career, including Gasteizko Neskak, Tolosa and Beasain. Last season she spent pre-season with top-flight outfit Oiartzun.
  • Ane Atristain (midfielder). Ane is a familiar face after having previously represented Eibar for two seasons, at both Second Division and Basque League level. Following a year at Gimnástica de Torrelavega, the 20-year-old now returns to Eibar.
  • Irati Uriarte (operates in wide areas). 16-year-old Irati spent the last three seasons with Pauldarrak de Barakaldo, who last season competed in the Second Division.
  • Jessica García (goalkeeper). Jessica is another player making a return to Eibar, after having kept goal for the club several years ago.
  • Oihane Caño (midfielder). Oihane boasts fine pedigree and strong experience in the Women's Second Division.
  • Esti Arretxe (versatile player able to operate in wide areas). Esti is another one who was with Second Division outfit Aurrera de Vitoria last term.
