SD Eibar set to send Calavera out on loan and sign another right-back

Director of football Fran Garagarza announced that several Second Division sides have expressed their interest in the player

SD Eibar's director of football, Fran Garagarza today revealed the club's intentions to send right-back Jordi Calavera out on loan, whilst announcing plans to recruit another player in that position.

Speaking at the press conference held this morning to unveil new signing Alejandro Gálvez, Garagarza revealed that the club had received interest from Second Division clubs about taking Calavera on loan.

"The technical staff, myself and the player have assessed things and we all agree that it's best for him to go out on loan. He's got some good options and the way we see it is that it'll be good for his development for him to enjoy some playing time and get regular minutes".

"He was born in 1995 and he's come here after having played 9 games for Nástic and perhaps things have moved a little too fast for him. The lad is happy with being sent out on loan. We signed him because the opportunity to do so came up in the transfer market, it was the same with Christian Rivera (signed from Real Oviedo). He's performing well, but he could come on even more if he goes out to a Second Division side".

Jordi Calavera (Cabra del Campo, Tarragona, 1995) joined Eibar on 1 July 2016 from Nástic de Tarragona on a three-year deal.
