Ríos Reina: "We are top and we have to continue with that objective and not ease off”

The Armeros' defender stresses that "the three most important points are this week's"

José Antonio Ríos Reina assured that "we are top and we have to continue with that objective and not ease off".

In a press conference prior to Saturday's match at El Toralín, the Armero defender, who played for Ponferradina between 2016 and 2022, stressed that "we can't look to the future, the three most important points are this week's".

DEFENDING THE LEAD

"At home we are a strong team, we have proven that. Away from home we have also proved it, but we have to keep proving it. We are top and we have to continue with that objective and not ease off."

"Apart from pride, it is a challenge for everyone to continue the same dynamic as the last year, where the team has been in these positions all year, and that is the goal, to continue in those positions."

"I have been in the situation of playing against the leader at home and it motivates you a little more. Beating the leader at home makes you stronger and they will go out to die."

OVERCOMING

"We can't look to the future, we have to go game by game. The three most important points are this week's, go and play there, get the three points and keep going week by week, which is the only way to get better."

"We are in a good moment of form, the team wants to keep growing and adding three by three. We cannot be confident that because we are leaders things will be easy. Every matchday will be more difficult and we will have to overcome ourselves."

PONFERRADINA

"In Segunda any team can complicate things for you. I say from experience that we are going to a very difficult stadium. We can't look at the table because they are strong there and it's going to be a complicated match."

"Ponferradina is a special place and always will be a special place for me. I wish them the best, but only after the match is over. This year things are going a little badly for them, but I know that El Toralín is special, they are strong there. They are welcoming the leader, they are in the positions they are in and I’m sure they want to get out of those positions by beating the leader to become stronger. It's going to be a complicated match, we'll have to put on our work overalls."

"I'm always excited to play, but playing at El Toralín is an extra motivation. Whatever happens, I want my team to win and I'm sure we will."
