Mendilibar: It will be tough but we will be there with the intention of passing the qualifying round

Tomorrow at Ipurua (22:00 h) Eibar has to turn around the 3-0 score it received two weeks ago at El Toralín

José Luis Mendilibar, the SD Eibar coach, said today at the press conference prior to tomorrow’s match against SD Ponferradina that it would be «very complicated» but that the team «intends to pass the qualifying round».

«We're going with a good mindset but we have to be careful not to let in any goals because that would almost decide the outcome. If we score one or two goals in the first half, all the better, but without worrying ourselves too much», he said.

The approach for tomorrow's match will be «to start out giving it our best, in the other team's half, without giving our rival any breathing space and we'll see how far we can go», remarked Mendilibar.

The coach from Zaldibar stated that «the team is in good condition» and is not suffering from the goals scored against them during the last minutes of recent League matches. «After the match against Valencia you can have the good feeling of having done things well or the bad feeling from the result. We'll go for the good feeling», he said.

For tomorrow’s match, Mendilibar has included three players from the CD Vitoria affiliate for the lineup: Iñigo Barrenetxea, Asier Etxaburu and Thaylor Lubanzadio. On the list, with 19 players, several players with injuries or physical problems are not included: Jaime, Eddy Silvestre, Ekiza, Saúl, Capa, Juncà and Hajrovic.
