Mendilibar: "I'm sure that next season we'd also take it if you said we'd be mathematically safe with five games to go"

The Armeros' boss has named all 20 available players in his squad list

José Luis Mendilibar today addressed the media ahead of tomorrow's meeting with Getafe at Ipurua (kick-off 13:00 CEST). Mendilibar, who has called up all 20 available members of his first-team squad with Fran Rico, Anaitz Arbilla, Iván Ramis and Sergi Enrich all missing out through injury, believes that the encounter will be an evenly matched affair.

The Eibar boss also expressed his satisfaction after the team mathematically secured survival last time out. "People have been congratulating me today on our survival, because we sealed it mathematically after Wednesday night's game. For the past two months it has been as if we'd already secured our survival, but it's with five games to go that we've got ourselves over the line. I'm sure that next season we would also take that", he declared.

The Armeros' attentions now turn to picking up maximum points in tomorrow's game. "The aim is to beat Getafe. We're taking things one game at a time, but are aware that tomorrow's will be a tough match because Getafe are a really good side. We want to go out and compete and will be trying to get the win".

When quizzed about where the key to tomorrow's game lies, Mendilibar suggested that the same factor he identified ahead of the Espanyol game will once again be pivotal. "Whichever team manages to score first will be halfway to winning the game. We're both teams that find goals hard to come by, but when we do score, we tend to make them count".

Tomorrow's game will be Eibar's third outing in the space of seven days and Mendilibar has revealed that he intends on shuffling his pack. "We'll be going with plan C. I'll be making changes to the side. Some of them that played on Wednesday will feature again and I'll use others that played last Sunday".
