Kike García: We'll play to our strengths and try to come away from Madrid with something, as we did last season

The Eibar hitman insists that the Armeros are not focusing on Madrid's results but rather "on ourselves"

Speaking today to the press gathered at the club's Atxabalpe training ground, Kike García declared that Eibar will be playing to their strengths as they look to "come away from Madrid with something", just as the side did last term, when they claimed a 1-1 draw.

When quizzed about Madrid's inconsistent home form, the Eibar striker referred to the Bernabéu as being "an extremely tough place to go to", before pointing out that "they're struggling to get the results", but "we're not focusing on that and are just concentrating on ourselves, in giving our all every day to go into the game in the best possible shape".

"There are also other teams who are struggling to win games. It's going to be a really tough season. We trust in the coach and his ideas. If we need to play as we did on Sunday again in the future, we'll do so. We're delighted to take on board what he tells us".

In reference to the team's lack of goals in the early stages of the season, Kike expressed his desire to see "not just the forwards but the whole team chipping in with goals. The important thing is to keep clean sheets because that means that, at the very least, you're guaranteed a point. We have to be resolute at the back and convert the chances we get and hopefully the goals will start to come, that would give us a boost".

On a personal level, Kike spoke of his delight at "the faith that the gaffer is placing in me. I have to help the team by scoring goals and that's what I'm working on. I give my all in every training session and game. I hope that the goals start to flow because as a team we need them".
