Joseba Etxeberria: "Points against direct rivals are even more important"

The Eibar coach stresses that winning at A Malata "wouldn't be just another victory"

Speaking in the press conference ahead of Sunday's clash in Ferrol, the Eibar coach stated that a win at A Malata "wouldn't be just another victory" as "they're direct rivals, it's away from home and it would be our fourth consecutive win".

JOSEBA ETXEBERRIA’S PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

“Yes, for us, it’s a very important and demanding game. It’s a direct rival after 24 matches, so it’s no longer a run of good form. They are one of the best teams in the division, one of the revelations of the season. They have a good squad and a great coach.”

“I’d highlight their wide offensive play. They have very quick players with clear ideas and they know how to create two-on-one situations. They know how to get forward and we’ll have to be very good.”

“We know it will be a very difficult game. We know that we’re prepared, though. It wouldn’t be just another victory as they’re direct rivals, it’s away from home, and it would be our fourth consecutive win.”

“After last week, it would give us a confidence boost and it’s clear that right now is a key time in the season when the table breaks up into groups and we want to be competing at the top.”

“We have Vencedor, Peru, Sergio in midfield, and that gives us more than enough to replace anyone and in this second half of the season we’ll have suspensions and the team will continue to react.”

“Peru’s strength, beyond the quality he is, is his versatility. We contemplate him mostly as a central midfielder, but if there’s a need, he can play in defence because he’s done that a lot.”
