Joseba Etxeberria: "In these games there's a different stimulus for players, coach and fans"

The Eibar coach stresses that "we're ready for such a demanding game" and underlines that "we're going to go for the game right from the word go"

Joseba Etxeberria stated that in games like Saturday's match against RCD Espanyol at Ipurua "there's a different stimulus for the players, for the coach and also for the fans".

Speaking at the press conference ahead of Saturday's Eibar-Espanyol clash, the Armeros' coach stressed that "we're preparing for such a demanding game and we have to be at our best", adding that "we're going to go for the game right from the word go".

JOSEBA ETXEBERRIA PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

“There’s a long way to go, every game less, but we’re only a point away and we know the importance of this game. Espanyol are favourites for promotion but we know that if we can give our best, as we often do at Ipurua, then we’ll have a chance to win.”

“The start to the second half of the season has been very good in terms of play but also on a competitive level, and we’ll need everything.”

“We always expect the best of our rivals. We know we have to be at our best to try to beat Espanyol. Even knowing their level, their quality, knowing they are favourites for promotion, this game comes at a good time for us and we are in front of our fans. There will be a great atmosphere at Ipurua and that will help us to try to win the game.”

“It’s one of the most demanding games of the season against one of the best teams in the league at home. There are very few teams with very few points between us. Every point is more important than the last. Knowing that a great team is coming to Ipurua, with respect to teams of this quality, we think we’re in a good place and are focused on playing a great game, that’s the only way to win.”

“You don’t have to add any motivation or tension to these games. The players already feel it in the atmosphere. We have to play as a team, attack as a team and defend as a team, which will allow us to be more competitive. Our mentality will continue to be to attack and look for Espanyol’s goal, but we know that Espanyol will be demanding of us in return.”
