Enrich: Our season is a 9.5, the team is happy

The forward from Menorca says that the team has the challenge of finishing with at least 45 points.

Sergi Enrich, the striker with SD Eibar, affirmed that the team “is happy” for having completed the objective of staying up and gives the season a mark of 9.5 out of 10. “I would give 10 but it can get better”.

“It’s a case of acknowledging the work that has been done. It’s been a difficult season that is ending very well. It is a great achievement that has to be appreciated. The aim now is to get as high as we possibly can.  We want to finish as well as possible and get at least 45 points, that is the challenge that we have set ourselves”.

In his opinion, the work throughout the season “has been important, with a very good first half of the season and a second half where we have come down a little, but to be safe with five games still to play is very important”.

The game on Friday against Sporting is, for Sergi Enrich, “an attractive game to play in”.  “The Molinón is a fantastic ground to play at, with lots of pressure from people in the stands. It is a game that demands commitment. If we come out lacking in intensity, they will pass right over us.

Assessing the season, the player from the Balearic Islands highlighted that “it has been very important to have the chance to play in La Liga. I have been able to fulfil my dream of playing in the best league in the world. I have contributed to the group and that makes me feel important. The most important thing is to feel at home and that they appreciate you.  I identify a lot with this club and with the project”.

“Mendilibar is the key, he has helped us a lot - he is a very approachable coach who treats you as an equal.  There’s a really good atmosphere in the dressing room, something that it really important in a club like this. You can go far with work, humility and unity”.

Looking toward next season, Enrich considers that “it is about beating the number of points, improving the play and giving happiness to these fans who always support us”.
