Eibar stage two-goal comeback to claim 2-2 draw against Levante

The Armeros fought back from a losing position to record a point at Ipurua

Eibar and Levante served up a hard-fought contest in their LaLiga Matchday 10 meeting, a game which saw the Armeros produce one of their best performances of the campaign. The hosts came out all guns blazing  and completely dominated during the opening exchanges, enjoying a number of sighting of Raúl Fernández's goal courtesy of several deliveries from wide areas. José Luis Mendilibar's men put together numerous good passing moves and recovered possession on many occasions, which saw them spend large spells in the visitors' half.

However, Levante it was who got their noses in front when a swift counter-attack was finished off by José Luis Morales, who got the better of Marko Dmitrović, in the one-on-one. Immediately after having taken the lead, the Granotas doubled their advantage when Enis Bardhi's swept the ball home from inside the area. Levante found themselves two goals to the good courtesy of what were virtually their first two forays into the Eibar box. and the visitors went in at half-time 2-0 up.

Despite the scoreline, at no point did Eibar give up on the game.  After the restart, the home side continued to look a threat  and with the second period barely under way, Anaitz Arbilla reduced the arrears with a sublime free-kick from the edge of the area.

The home faithful willed the players on and kept pushing as the Armeros went in search of an equaliser. With 74 minutes on the clock, Takashi Inui drove in from the left, bursting into the area before unleashing an effort that was destined for the far corner. Raúl got down to palm the ball out, but Charles, who had entered the fray just minutes earlier, was quickest off the mark to stab the ball home and restore parity.

In the final stages, the Armeros had several chances to have overturned the scoreline,   with Sergi Enrich coming closest to hitting the winner, only for Raúl to keep his effort out. The hosts kept probing right until the final whistle, but ultimately no further goals were forthcoming.
