Eibar claim hard-fought point in goalless stalemate at the Coliseum

Jordán had the chance to put the Armeros ahead from the spot, but he sent his effort over the bar

Eibar picked up a point from their trip to Getafe in the sides' La Liga Matchday 15 encounter as the Armeros and Azulones served up a turgid affair which was short on chances and ended in a goalless draw.

Eibar had a golden opportunity to have taken a second-half lead when they were awarded a penalty, but Jordán Joan failed to hit the target from the spot.

The game got off to a bright start with both sides posing an early threat. Getafe fired in a warning shot in the first minute with Marko Dmitrović palming Ndiaye Amath's effort behind. However, as the minutes ticked by, the intensity levels dropped as the two teams traded the upper hand.

In the final minutes of the opening period, Eibar began to boss possession and came closest to making the breakthrough when Iván Alejo's cross-shot was brilliantly tipped onto the bar by Vicente Guaita.

After the restart, Eibar got on the front foot, pinning the hosts back into their own half. In the 53rd minute, Sergi Enrich was upended by Djené inside the box and the referee promptly pointed to the spot.

Jordán stepped up but he fired his spot-kick over the bar. Despite this setback, the away side continued to probe and Enrich nearly broke the deadlock, only to be expertly denied by Guaita.

During the closing stages the midfield battle took centre stage, with Eibar failing to fashion any clear openings on goal. The hosts began to pin the visitors back, but the Armeros produced a strong rearguard action to fend off any danger. The Armeros ultimately picked up a hard-fought point which serves to extend their unbeaten run to four games.
