Battling Eibar fight to the death to edge past Granada

Sergi Enrich netted a last-gasp 93rd-minute winner after the Armeros were forced to play the bulk of the game with a numerical disadvantage

The action kicked off at a scorching Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes with temperatures exceeding the 30° mark, as the early exchanges saw the two sides cancel each other out with neither able to get the better of the opposition's defence. Whilst Granada appeared to be dictating proceedings, they failed to create any danger against a well-drilled Eibar outfit. With 7 minutes on the clock, the visitors looked to make the breakthrough when Kike García met a cross from out wide, but he was unable to make anything of it. With 31 minutes played, the game was turned on its head after indecision in the Eibar backline from Alejandro Gálvez prompted Asier Riesgo to come racing off his line. Riesgo upended Ezequiel Ponce on the edge of the area and was handed his marching orders and on came Yoel in his place, with Jota the man to be sacrificed.

With it all to do in the game, Pedro León let fly with a long-range effort which took a nasty bounce and caught the hosts' goalkeeper to hand the visitors the lead.

In the second half it was a more offensive-minded Granada side that came out, as the hosts looked to get themselves back into the game. Meanwhile, Eibar continued to look a threat from set pieces. The introduction of Mehdi Carcela gave the Andalusians renewed impetus and they found an equaliser on 76 minutes when Ponce's header came back off the woodwork and Artem Kravets was on hand to tap home.

The final minutes were played out at a high-tempo and right when Granada looked at their most menacing, the Armeros, who looked destined to hold on and claim a point, broke away on the counter and surprised the home faithful as Sergi Enrich produced a cool 93rd-minute finish to seal a thrilling and rather incredible Eibar win.
