Ane Campos: “We arrive at the last derby of the season with enthusiasm and confidence”.

Ane Campos welcomes the upcoming fixture feeling happy with the teamwork and the growth that the team has experienced since the beginning of the season up to today.

Ane Campos gave a press conference today in the run-up to the derby against Athletic Club, which will be played on Sunday at 12:00 at Ipurua. The striker has shown her enthusiasm and confidence and has encouraged the fans to come to Ipurua to experience the atmosphere that the last derby of the season will offer.

There are six matches left to finish the season, three of them at Ipurua, and the Armeros are in good shape for this stretch, thanks to the good work done since the beginning of the campaign. “It's true that at the beginning it cost us a little, but we have been growing match by match, creating a team and enjoying ourselves, but at the end of the day the key is work,” said Campos.

As for playing at Ipurua, she added: “From the beginning our objective has been to make Ipurua our home and our temple, and we have managed to feel that by playing matches. This Sunday we have another opportunity to prove that. We also come into this stretch of the season with confidence, Liga F is difficult, but I have believed in this team from the beginning and the work we have done has brought us to where we are. But we are still ready to show more.”

Regarding the opponent, Campos expects to encounter a strong Athletic, given they are a team that is doing well this season. “They have taken a step forward this year, they have very good players and play very well, which is showing in results and classification,” added the striker, who says the first round defeat to Athletic has been “a thorn” in her side.

The derby, besides being important for obvious reasons, creates expectations from the fans and a special atmosphere, according to Campos. And with only 3 home matches remaining between now and the end of the season, she has taken the opportunity to appeal to the fans, reiterating that “the strength and warmth of the fans is important for us to be able to win the match.”
