2-4 | Eibar imposes its skill against Náxara and advances in the Copa
Martón, Nolaskoain, Toni Villa, and Bautista were the scorers at the Luis de la Fuente in Haro
SD Eibar secured their place in the next round of the Copa del Rey after defeating Náxara 2-4, in a match that combined control, patience, and efficiency against a combative opponent that never gave up.
The match began with a clear chance from Toni Villa, who signaled the intentions of the team from the start. Beñat San José's side monopolized possession and found reward for their dominance with the first goal by Javi Martón, following an excellent through pass from Aleix that the forward finished with composure.
Náxara tried to respond with an attack down the right after a turnover, but without success. Shortly after, Magu executed a move almost identical to the first goal, but his goal was disallowed for offside. Eibar remained calm and in control, true to their style, but did not lose their verticality once they surpassed the first line. Their persistence paid off when Toni Villa earned a clear penalty that Peru Nolaskoain confidently converted to make it 0-2.
Before halftime, the team from La Rioja got back into the game. Viti took advantage of a good run down the right wing to reduce the deficit and ignite the crowd. The goal did not unsettle Eibar, who almost extended their lead before the break with a low cross from Martón that went across the area without finding a finisher.
The second half began with more balance until a blow to Magu's face inside the area tipped the match again: a penalty and a goal by Toni Villa, who scored the third for Eibar. However, Náxara did not give up and, pushed by their fans, put Eibar under pressure, forcing them to defend. Luis López kept the team afloat with several crucial saves, although Ochoa, in the 82nd minute, narrowed the scoreline and brought uncertainty back into the game.
As the match was nearing its end, Bautista, who had come on in the second half, appeared to seal the game and secure the final 2-4 scoreline. Eibar advances confidently in the Copa after a match that showcased both their firepower and competitive maturity. The next challenge, Almería.
