AREITIO, the new home of SD Eibar
The Ciudad Deportiva de Areitio, located in Alto de Mallabia, is the new nerve center of SD Eibar. With a total area of 107,900 m², these modern and sustainable facilities are set to become the driving force for the sporting and educational growth of the armero club.
A project for the present and the future
In July 2025, SD Eibar inaugurated Areitio after the completion of Phase I of the works. Since then, the first team and the youth academy have been preparing their seasons here, enjoying an environment designed to optimize training, competition, and the comprehensive development of male and female players.
The project was divided into two phases. The first phase allowed the initial establishment of the entire sports structure for the 2025/26 season and consisted of:

Five football fields for 11-a-side (2 with natural grass and 3 with artificial grass).

A 2,000 m³ irrigation reservoir.

A parking lot with 285 spaces.

The Tribuna Building, with 4,284 m² built and a capacity for 1,620 spectators.
The heart of Areitio: the Tribuna Building
This building is much more than a stand: it is a multipurpose space serving the club and its youth categories.

Basement floor: gym, physiotherapy, medical offices, classrooms, laundry, and technical facilities.

Ground floor: 17 locker rooms, storage rooms, and public restrooms.

Mezzanine: offices, meeting rooms, and a coworking area for the technical staff.

Tribuna floor: stands for 1,620 people, press area, bar, and restrooms.
Sustainability and design
Areitio reflects SD Eibar's commitment to sustainability. The building's roof integrates a self-consumption system with photovoltaic panels, while the climate control relies on efficient heat pumps. The materials used (wood, glass, prefabricated concrete, and perforated metal sheet) convey modernity, functionality, and respect for the environment.
Additionally, the sports complex incorporates an innovative water collection system, capturing both rainwater and river water, which is used for field irrigation. This system not only optimizes available water resources but also reflects the club's strong commitment to a responsible and environmentally friendly model.
The journey continues
With Phase I completed, Areitio continues its Phase II, which includes the construction of the first team building and a gardening building, scheduled for completion and initial use in 2026.
Thus, Areitio becomes a symbol of the future for SD Eibar, a space where the daily work of the first team, the development of the youth academy, and the enthusiasm of the entire armero fanbase will coexist.
