Unbeatable Eibar beat Sevilla 3-0 at Ipurua

Eibar made it three from three with a brace from Andrea Álvarez and an own goal from the Sevilla goalkeeper.

Eibar came out of the blocks with a slightly different eleven and a slightly different formation from previous games. With Andrea Álvarez and Laura Camino in attack, Eibar made an early push to get into their opponent’s box.

Andrea Álvarez got the first goal from almost the center of the field in the first half, a few minutes after Miralles saved Gabarro's penalty. The penalty was awarded after Eider's handball inside the area. Amid an emotional whirlwind with the penalty and goal, Eibar required help from their goalkeeper to get into the break with their lead intact.

In the second half, with no clear chances for either side, it was up to the Armeros to defend a little more early on. Until, almost by surprise, an impressive shot by Andrea Alvarez after a pass by Annelie could not be kept out by Sevilla keeper Aguirre.

With several changes made to the eleven, coach Yerai Martin reinforced the Armeros' defense in the second half. Despite suffering a little more in the final stretch, the Armero team did not concede, managing to score again with just a few minutes remaining. A perfect cross from Annelie led to the Sevilla keeper turning the ball into his own goal.

A vital three points to allow Eibar to breathe in the standings. Next week, on Saturday at 16.00, they will play as visitors against bottom team Sporting de Huelva.
