Joseba Etxeberria: “It's a key moment and we have to prove our level”

The Eibar coach stresses that “what's at stake is something very big and that should fill us with energy”

Speaking at the press conference ahead of Sunday's clash, the Eibar coach stressed that “we need to get back to winning ways because we're coming off the back of a defeat. We have to do a lot of things right because we're up against a good opponent. We're just one game behind first place, we're very excited about this opportunity and the fans are aware that we're there again”.

“It's a key moment and we have to prove our level. What's at stake is something very big and that has to fill us with energy. We have to be Eibar from the first play to the last.”

JOSEBA ETXEBERRIA PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

“The reality is that we need to get back to winning ways because we're coming off the back of a defeat. We have to win to stay up there. We have to do a lot of things right because we're up against a good opponent. We're just one game behind first place, we're very excited about this opportunity and the fans are aware that we're there again.”

“Everyone is slipping up, what matters is how you react and how Eibar will react to our defeat. That’s what we have to focus on, nothing else. I believe in these players and the team, we’re going to go step by step. This team has always reacted to each blow and shown up, that’s what gives me belief that on Sunday we can do the many things we need to do right to win. It’s a key moment and we have to prove our level, knowing that the distance to the teams behind is minimal.”

“When you design a squad, it’s to be ready for moments like this. I have full belief in those will come in for Peru and Matheus, so it’s obviously better to have everyone available but I’m calm because everyone is in the right mental place.”

“It’s clear that this is a special derby, for me because I was very happy there and I know a lot of players and people from the club, but this is professional football and all that matters is to win. We will do all we can to beat them and then after that, I hope they can stay up.”

“I think that it’s important to be aware of what’s at stake, which is something very big, and that has to fill us with energy. We have played very complete and serious games at Ipurua, but we have to show that again on Sunday.”
