Yoel: With the players that they've got, Celta are capable of hurting you at any time
SD Eibar's Vigo-born shotstopper spoke to the press after today's training session
Speaking to the press gathered at Atxabalpe today, SD Eibar goalkeeper, Yoel Rodríguez, insisted that, "With the players that they've got, Celta are capable of hurting you at any time".
Next up for SD Eibar it's RC Celta de Vigo in Saturday's La Liga Santander clash at Ipurua (18:30).
In reference to the Galicians, Yoel stated that, "They've been performing well in La Liga for a number of years now. They play some incredible football and are a pleasure to watch. They're a really tough side to play against. Let's hope that everything works out as we want it to and not the way they want".
"We have to play our own game. We make it really tough for opposing sides to come here and we hope that they let us play our game and that the three points stay here".
When asked about the two back-to-back games that Eibar now face at Ipurua (on Saturday against Celta and on Friday 25 November against Real Betis), the custodian stressed that, "we mustn't surrender any points here at home. If we take six points from the two games, it will make things interesting".
Vigo-born Yoel, who turned out for the Galicians between 2009 and 2012 and again in the 2013/14 campaign, revealed that he has "big friends at the club". "Whenever you play against former teammates and your friends it's always an interesting one".
When quizzed about Iago Aspas, who misses out on the Ipurua clash through suspension, Yoel noted that, "he's a special player, when everything's going for him he's unstoppable because he's very quick and is really good at getting away from defenders. He won't play any part in this one, but he knows that he's got a great friend in me and every time I go to Vigo I try to see him".
Yoel, who provides back-up for Asier Riesgo, has made two La Liga appearances for Eibar and is now looking forward to further action in the forthcoming Copa del Rey clash against Sporting Gijón. "It's now only two weeks away and I hope to put in a good performance and that everything goes well".
