Eibar have beaten Huesca thanks to a late goal from Matheus.
Eibar picked up a win in their last game of the La Liga season ahead of entering the playoffs.
Gaizka Garitano’s men took a direct approach and attacked the opposition area throughout. Stoichkov and Bautista came close with clear-cut opportunities for the Armeros in the first half, but the two sides went in at the break on level terms.
After the restart, the home side came close with a dangerous ball from Ignasi, but Eibar reacted well and almost found the net through Bautista, who headed just wide.
Eibar continued to push and didn’t give up hope. Yannis came close after a neat cut-back from Tejero, and Garitano’s men continued their attempts to go ahead.
The winning goal eventually arrived in the 82nd minute, when Matheus found the net with a fine strike from outside the area.
The goal brought back smiles for Eibar after a run of games without a win. The Armeros now go into the playoffs on the back of three points, achieving fifth place in the standings.
