Valuable draw against Atlético de Madrid at Ipurua

Cantabrian Laura Camino scored her first goal of the season to level the score late in the game after an assist from Van Deursen.

The Armeras drew against Atlético de Madrid on matchday 21. It’s a very important point at this stretch of the competition after another great job by Yerai Martin's team.

It was up to the Eibar players to defend in the first half and they did just that, including a great save by Miralles at the 10-minute mark. The Colchoneras were the better side in the first half and, in the 15th minute, Eva Navarro scored the Madrilenians’ first and only goal.

Far from giving up, Eibar got back on their feet and picked up the pace after the goal, with the clear idea of getting, at the very least, the equalizer. In the 19th minute, Laura Camino, the eventual MVP of the match, came close, finishing off a pass from Sierra.

The Colchoneros suffered the opposite effect and, after the goal, they struggled to create opportunities. The Armeras reached half-time 1-0 down and hoping to improve offensively in the second half.

After some adjustments, the second half started with the Armeras playing almost all of the remaining minutes in the opponent's half, regularly getting dangerously close to the box. A shot from a set piece by Eider crashed off the crossbar, and Carla couldn’t quite get the equalizer with her rebound.

In the last 20 minutes, the changes for both teams began and Yerai decided to thrust Annelie into the action, removing Andrea Álvarez. He also opted to give minutes to Dutch player Van Deursen who, in a play with Laura Camino, provided her first assist for the Cantabrian, who scored her first of the season, securing a vital point for Eibar.
