The first SD Eibar women’s team has met expectations in its return to the Second Division and retained its place in the division for next season.
With a very young team and without previous experience in this category, the challenge this campaign was to get to know the division and adapt quickly and well enough to stay in it.
Félix Recio’s players have spent most of the season on the edge of the relegation places and have alternated good runs with other moments when it was difficult to win a point and they came close to the danger zone.
Finally, the gunsmiths confirmed their continuity in the division in the penultimate game of the season with a 0–4 victory against Leioako Emakumeak.
The 27 points obtained, with 7 victories, 6 draws and 13 defeats, have placed Eibar five points above the relegation places and only two points behind the team in seventh.
