The SD Eibar board of director elections will be held on 1 June

The electoral Organising Committee revealed details relating to the electoral timeline

The elections for the appointment of members to the SD Eibar board of directors will take place on 1 June at the Astelena Fronton in Eibar.

This information was revealed today in a press conference held in the Ipurua media room by the electoral Organising Committee, a body formed a month ago at the request of the club president and which was approved yesterday by the board of directors.

This committee, whose function is to lead the electoral process, is made up of board members, José Miguel Fiallegas and Jon Ander Ulazia and the club's managing director, Patricia Rodríguez.

The call for nominations for new members of the board of directors opens today and runs until 24 March.

The 25 March marks the start of the period during which meetings will be held between the various candidates, the aim of which will be to agree upon the electoral conditions to be followed at the shareholders' meeting, given that the bylaws do not address some provisions which need to be enacted. This process will close on 10 April.

Featuring amongst these provisions is the number of board members that will constitute the new board of directors and whether they will be elected individually by the shareholders' meeting or by proxy ballot.

The shares owned by the company, Mendate, a share depository arising from the club's initial capital increase and those held by the Foundation are excluded from the electoral process and may not be used by any of the candidates.

A board of directors meeting is scheduled for 10 April, during which a shareholders' meeting will formally be called, in which the elections will be conducted.

Fiallegas stressed that these elections come "at the best time in the club's history, both on the field and financially-speaking", before stating that the elections, "represent a landmark event in our history".

"It is our collective responsibility to ensure that SD Eibar doesn't end up being hampered, hurt or divided by this process. We're certain that the club will emerge stronger as a result of it because we have complete faith in our fan base".

He went on to insist that the process, "will be democratic and transparent". "A fair confrontation of ideas and different projects is intrinsically positive. These elections will represent a further element that serves to strengthen Eibar".
