This clash between Levante UD and SD Eibar was a very intense one throughout. From the off, Los Armeros showed their desire to take three more points before the halfway point of the season by attacking the goal defended by Cárdenas. Eibar’s first dangerous move came just minutes into the game, but Stoichkov’s shot from the centre of the box flew just wide. Shortly afterwards, Yanis had a chance to open the scoring, but the Eibar man was unable to get on the end of Rober Correa’s cross. The home side were able to respond as a Brugué header went narrowly wide. Overall, the fans at Levante’s Ciudad de Valencia Stadium witnessed a great first half between two teams who put their ambitions on full display. With the scores level, both teams returned to the dressing rooms to regroup ahead of the second 45 minutes.
After the restart, both teams battled to take control of the game and of the ball. With both sides keen to take the win, they each created several dangerous opportunities. The clearest chance fell to the home side in the 68th minute, but Luca Zidane made a great save to deny Bouldini. Eibar responded well, though, and also pushed for what would have been a winning goal. However, it wasn’t easy against this opponent and the match finished as a goalless draw and a sharing of the spoils.
