Stoichkov: It’s all on the line and we’ll travel with the belief that we can win

The Eibar forward stressed that we have a good enough team to secure the victory

Eibar forward Juan Diego Molina, better known as Stoichkov, has declared that “it’s all on the line” in Thursday’s game away at Mendizorrotza against Alavés and insisted that “we’ll travel with the belief that we can win there”.

Speaking at a press conference after Tuesday’s training session at Atxabalpe, Stoichkov underlined that Eibar “have a good enough team to win” in the promotion playoffs semi-final second leg.

ON HAVING BELIEF

“This is the most important game of the season because it’s all on the line. We’ll travel with the belief that we can win there. We know how difficult the game will be, but we have a good enough team to win.”

“The squad has the right desire and ambition and I think we’re going to do it.”

ON NEEDING TO WIN

“It's usually good to play in front of your own fans in these types of games, but last year we won in Girona and then lost at home, so we’re going on the road with the hope of winning.”

“Last year it was enough for us to draw at home and, in the end, we went into extra time and conceded a goal. I don't know how important it will be for them to get a draw, but we have to go and win the game, as that’s all that’ll be enough for us.”

ON THE EVEN LEVEL

“The level of the two teams is very equal. You could see it in Ipurua and also in the regular season games. We were down a player when we went away there before and in the first leg, but this is a new match. With 11 vs 11, we are two very evenly matched teams. The game will be decided by fine details and whoever makes the fewest mistakes will win the game.”

“We have a big squad with good players and everyone who plays can play well. That’s what makes a team great. We will need everyone.”

ON SCORING GOALS

“I'm very happy to be able to help the team with goals. When you score you get a better feeling. With Saturday's goal, I saw Gustavo's pass and the ball went a little behind me and I couldn't hit it any other way than with my heel. Whoever scores, the important thing is to win the match. We deserve it, this club deserves it, this team deserves it and we're going for it.”

“I think we have a lot of motivation. It's true that it's a complicated match, but they can't beat us in terms of hunger or ambition. We can do it.”
