Second edition of Diploma in Technical Management of Football Clubs to be staged

The course, run by the SD Eibar Foundation and the University of the Basque Country, will once again be held at Ipurua and is set to run from October 2016 to May 2017.

Following on from the success of the inaugural Diploma in Technical Management of Football Clubs, jointly run by the SD Eibar Foundation and the Education and Sports Department (IVEF) at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), a second edition of the course is set to be staged. The course - which is unique within La Liga, given its status as the only one of its kind which is taught in its entirety within a top-flight stadium - is to be held at the Training Centre at Ipurua.

The positive experience enjoyed by the first cohort of students to complete the course, which was opened by Vicente del Bosque and from which 25 students graduated, has led to the organisation of a second edition. Registration for the course opens on 19 August and applications are to be made via www.sdeibar.com/formacion

This edition will see an increase in the academic workload, with the course now comprising eight modules as opposed to the previous six. A total of 65 teaching hours are scheduled for Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Top professionals from the Basque Country's top-flight clubs - including SD Eibar, Athletic Club and Real Sociedad - along with renowned university professors specialising in sport, along with other prestigious professionals from the sporting world (doctors, economists, journalists, lawyers, nutritionists and physiotherapists) will be responsible for teaching on the second edition of the course, which will be made up of the following modules:

1 Training Sessions, Fitness Training
2 Football Management, Youth Football, Rehabilitation
3 Match Analysis, Scouting
4 Sports Medicine, Physiotherapy
5 Sports Nutrition
6 Coaching, Psychology, Business and Project Management
7 Management, Finance, Marketing and Communications
8 Sports Law and Legality

The course is intended for those seeking to improve their level of qualifications by specialising exclusively in management and football, but it's also designed for those working in the football industry at smaller clubs who are looking to update their knowledge. The successful completion of the course by students from the university's Education and Sports department will be recognised as representing two university credits.

The price of the full course is €399, with the option to register for three modules at a cost of €270 or a single module for €99. Full information on the syllabus and the teaching staff is available at www.sdeibar.com/formacion
