SD Eibar today welcome first official Australia-based supporters' group
Members of the Peña Eibaroos supporters' club will cheer the team on from the other side of the world
SD Eibar continue to attract supporters from across all corners of the planet, with the latest example of this international appeal emerging in Australia's third largest city, Brisbane, which is home to the headquarters of the Peña Eibaroos.
The passion for the Armeros transcends borders, a fact included in the statutes of this new group, which aims to allow its members to support, follow and get behind Sociedad Deportiva Eibar from anywhere in the world.
The group's president, Javier Iriondo, explained that, "the name of Peña Eibaroos came about as a result of combining Eibar's name with that of our Australian kangaroos".
After having completed all of the relevant steps, today saw the Peña Eibaroos granted official status, to become the club's 32nd official supporters' group. SD Eibar wish to offer a reminder that the application period for supporters' groups to be granted official status remains open.
