SD Eibar have been represented in Japan over the past two days in a trip which has seen the club not only establish closer relationships with their fans and members of the local supporters' group, but also strengthen its commercial ties with the country.

In the wake of numerous conversations with the chambers of commerce and embassies of both countries, Eibar managed to secure a place at one of Japan's leading business events. The 26th Hispanic-Japanese Bilateral Business Cooperation, which was presided over by the King of Spain, Felipe VI, represented the perfect setting in which companies could meet each other, with Eibar making the most of this opportunity to pursue the club's strategic internationalisation objective.

The SD Eibar expedition was headed up by the club's managing director, Patricia Rodríguez and during their stay, the club representatives have established links with the Japanese ambassador to Spain, Masashi Mizukami and the president of ICEX (the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade), as well as strengthening ties with top-level businesses, including Mitsubishi, Kiyoshi Azuma, The Nikkan Sports News and internationally renowned universities, such as IESE. Amongst the attendees at the event was Toshio Mataushima, who in addition to being a member of the Peña Eibarresa Tokyo supporters' group was attending in his capacity as president of Negocio Inc.

For his part, Takashi Inui, took his place at a gala dinner organised by the Japanese Primer Minister and his wife. During the course of this institutional event, Eibar will present their hosts with a shirt signed by the members of the first-team squad and other official gifts which have been prepared for the occasion.

Tomorrow sees the trip come to an end, with hopes that the visit will have served to clinch new commercial deals with Japanese-based organisations and increase the number of fans who follow the team, particularly on social media.

SD Eibar wish to publicly thank the collaboration and kindness of the members of the Peña Eibarresa Tokyo throughout their stay, with particular thanks going to the group's president, Robert Verdier and Toshio Mataushima.
