SD Eibar pay tribute to 40th anniversary of Eibar Theatre Days
The organisation's director was presented with a commemorative plaque in the VIP area at Ipurua
SD Eibar have paid tribute to Eibar's Theatre Days, which this year celebrates its 40th edition, by presenting the institution's director and founder, Juan Ortega, with a commemorative plaque.
The presentation took place on Saturday in the VIP box at Ipurua during the half-time interval of the Eibar v Málaga game and was attended by the club's president, Amaia Gorostiza, and the mayor of Eibar, Miguel de los Toyos.
This tribute sees the club recognise the important contribution made by the Eibar Theatre Days, which are promoted by Eibar City Council, both throughout the autonomous community and the rest of the country, with the initiative having established itself as a reference within the artistic scene.
The SD Eibar Foundation is playing an active role in these sessions by sponsoring Jokoz Kanpo/Fuera de Juego (Offside), a play produced by the company Borobil Teatroa which will be showing at the Coliseo Theatre on 5 April at 20:30 (in Spanish) and on 6 April at the same time in Basque.
Jokoz Kanpo, directed by Anartz Zuazua, portrays the values of football and the lessons that it can offer us in our daily lives. Situated somewhere between light and hilarious comedy, the play offers a satire of the negative values within the game and seeks to instil models of positive behaviour amongst the youngest members of society.
