SD EIBAR JOINS IN A CHARITY AUCTION OF EXCLUSIVE BOTTLES FOR THE FOOD BANK FEDERATION

The “Bottle of Solidarity” auction, in which anyone can bid online for bottles of Coca-Cola signed by their football idols from the first and second divisions, including SD Eibar, was presented today in Galdakao

This way, players from clubs from both divisions have joined the Coca-Cola act of solidarity to support the Spanish Food Bank Federation, which marks the beginning of the Christmas campaign #hazfelizaalguien (“Make someone happy”).

Anyone interested in participating can bid until 9 December through the Coca-Cola website (www.cocacola.es) for the 29 exclusive bottles with the signatures of the players. Once the auction is over, the Food Bank will use the proceeds to help families and individuals in need. Also, for every euro raised Coca-Cola will donate one litre of their beverage to this association.

The event to launch the initiative was attended by the Coca-Cola Communications Manager for the north, the President of the Food Bank of Euskadi, Daniel Fernandez, and members and players from the participating football clubs from the first and second divisions: Athletic Bilbao, Real Sociedad, SD Eibar and Deportivo Alavés.

Gonzalo Marquez, Coca-Cola Communications Manager for the north, said that this initiative “reinforces our belief that small actions can make many people happy, as will be shown by our Christmas campaign which is being launched over the next few days, and which starts today with this event. At this time of year we would like to help everyone to remember that the best gift is to help others.”

Meanwhile, Daniel Fernandez, President of the Food Bank of Euskadi, thanked “the work of all those anonymous members of the public but also companies, institutions and sports clubs who, with activities like these, enable us to provide support to the families and individuals who turn to our organisation for help.”

The event was also attended by representatives of the clubs from the first and second divisions – Athletic Club, Real Sociedad, SD Eibar and Deportivo Alavés – who are participating in the activity and who wanted to show their support by accompanying the other organisations in the opening of the auction.

During 2015, Coca-Cola has replaced its Contour glass bottles within the hotel and catering sector throughout the country with a new design. As part of the presentation of this new bottle, first and second division clubs have become involved in this act of solidarity, which will be launched in various cities across Spain to raise as much money as possible for the Food Bank Federation.

All the information about the new campaign is available in the website www.cocacola.es and can be followed in the social media using the hashtag #hazfelizaalguien.
