SD Eibar Foundation celebrates Book Day with various activities

A visit to the Municipal Library, a book signing and a banner at the next game in Ipurua will highlight the importance of reading under the slogan Leer es de Primera (Reading is First)

The importance of reading is a key in the diffusion of the values espoused by SD Eibar Foundation, especially amongst the young.  For this reason, various activities have been prepared to commemorate International Book Day, which will be celebrated next Saturday the 23rd, under the slogan “Irakurtzea, Primerakoa –Leer es de Primera” (Reading is First).

Capitalising on the publication of the book on the Club’s 75th Anniversary, the week will start with the visit by two players to the Municipal Library of Eibar in Portalea, on Thursday, 21st at 18:30 to commemorate the 109 years since its foundation and to present the 75th Anniversary publication with the Councillor for Culture, Patxi Lejardi.

There will also be a donation of various examples of this volume to the City Council so that all citizens can consult it in the public library and municipal archive. The visit will be open to all the children wanting to come, who will be able to see their idols Ion Ansotegi and Asier Riesgo up close. The Eibar City Council will raffle ten of the armero first team shirts from amongst all those people who take a book out on loan from the library from today until Thursday.

Furthermore, on Saturday 23rd at midday, El Corte Inglés will host a presentation of the 75th Anniversary book led by another two players in the bookstore section (third floor).  On this day only, those people assisting will have the chance to purchase a copy of the book with a 10% discount, in addition to having it signed by the players Kike García and Jaime Jiménez.

To close the week, during the game on Saturday, 23rd against Deportivo La Coruña, the starting eleven will show a banner in support of reading to highlight its importance to both children and adults alike.
