SD Eibar Foundation attends 5th Meeting of Football Club Foundations

The event, which was staged at the RCDE Stadium, addressed all of the most relevant foundation-related topics

The SD Eibar Foundation took an active part in the 5th Meeting of Professional Football Club Foundations which took place throughout this week.

This year, the RCD Espanyol and LaLiga Foundations were the joint organisers of the event, which was hosted at the RCDE Stadium.

The conference, which brought together foundations from 23 professional football clubs, tackled the most relevant foundation-related topics, with a particular focus on solidarity and outreach activities. The opening ceremony was attended by the leading figures from the Blanquizaules' hierarchy and the head of LaLiga's Foundation, Olga de la Fuente.

During the course of the week, participants attended a talk delivered by the LaLiga Foundation team entitled, Fair Play Social, as well as the Technology in the foundation context presentation offered by the host club. This talk explored all of the new technologies which could be used by the foundations. Attendees were also offered a close look at the RCDE Stadium courtesy of a guided tour.

The SD Eibar Foundation delivered a talk entitled The recovery of historic memory and museum management which sought to highlight the importance of clubs having a worthy historical memory project regardless of their size. Jon Arregi, head of the SD Eibar Foundation, spoke about the projects that the club's foundation is currently working on, "Until the new facilities in the East Stand are up and running, we've set up a temporary museum, we've also got our pre-booked stadium tours and we'll soon be launching tours that are open to the general public".

In Arregi's eyes, these sorts of gatherings allow clubs to generate working relationships, "We look back on it in very positive terms, it has allowed us to take a close look at what each of the clubs are working on and to establish relationships and links. This year we saw the Fair Play Social project, which takes its place alongside the Flay Play Financial initiative. For LaLiga and its brand development, economic control is just as important as social transformation and transmitting values".
