SD Eibar Federation of International Supporters' Groups formed

The new federation sees 21 official supporters' clubs come together

The classrooms at the Ipurua Training Centre this morning played host to the constitutional assembly of the SD Eibar Federation of International Supporters' Groups.

Around 25 members of the fans' groups, representing a large proportion of the SD Eibar official peñas, came together this morning to launch a project which the club and supporters' groups have been working on for several months. The federation will serve to establish closer links and associations between the existing official peñas and those which wish to join the project in the future, with the federation having been handed official status by the club.

The new SD Eibar Federation of International Supporters' Groups sees 21 official peñas, six of which are Eibar-based, nine from across Spain and six international clubs join forces.

The federation's board is made up of:

  • President: Pedro Pérez (Peña Errasti)
  • Deputy president: Igor Mayora (Peña Eskozia la Brava)
  • Institutional vice-president: Mikel Porto (Peña Urko)
  • Vice-president:Axel Riaño (Gazte Armagiñak)
  • Secretary:Unai Belategi (Peña Gatzato)
  • Treasurer:Unai Ruiz (Peña Emango Nuke)
  • Spokespersons: One per supporters' group of those groups not represented in the above roles.

At the end of the assembly, the federation's board presented two of SD Eibar's board members, Mikel Larrañaga and Javier Sarrionandio, with a carved butt, a gift which the federation is set to present to fellow federations at future gatherings.
