SD Eibar Esports reinforces its squad for the new eLaLiga Santander season

The sixth edition of this competition kicks off on January 31

The Eibar Esports team has been reinforced ahead of the imminent start of a new eLaLiga Santander season.

In order to achieve the best possible participation in the 2023 season, SD Eibar Esports has reinforced its squad with Adri Domenech (Barcelona, 2001), who joins from Osasuna and will take the reins as a new starter, and Yeray Rodríguez (Gasteiz, 2001) who will debut in eLaLiga as a substitute player for the Armeros, after several years as a reputed professional of Clash Royale.

January 31 will be the first day of the sixth edition of eLaLiga Santander, the sister digital competition of LaLiga Santander de Fútbol Profesional. First and second division clubs will compete in this innovative format supported by the technology of the famed EA SPORTS™ FIFA 20 Global Series FIFA 23 video game in Spain. This will be the fourth edition for Eibar, who are aiming to significantly improve on last year's results.

The dynamics of the competition are similar to those of LaLiga Santander itself, with a regular season, divided into two pools of 19 teams each, in which each club will face the other participating teams in its corresponding group. This regular phase will generate a classification, which isn’t decisive, but which will allow participation in both the "Grand Final" and the "eLaLiga Cup", depending on the position they occupy. SD Eibar will share a group with other Basque teams, also participating in eLaLiga Santander, such as Real Sociedad, Osasuna and Deportivo Alavés.

"The objective is to finish, at the very least, among the top six in our group in order to qualify for the finals," says Adri Domenech, who already knows all too well what it's like to be part of it after his successful season last year with the Pamplona-based side and is aiming to match or improve on his results in his first year with Eibar.

The matches of each matchday will take place in person at the Mediapro studios in Barcelona and will be played every Tuesday and Wednesday from January 31 until mid-April (except for the Easter break) and can be followed on streaming through the official eLaLiga Santander channels (YouTube, Twitch, TikTok...).
