SD Eibar draw against Philadelphia Fury in their first friendly of the US tour

The home side went ahead in the first half, Eibar equalised a few minutes later and were the better side throughout the game

The Richard Wackar stadium hosted this afternoon the first game of SD Eibar’s Unites States tour, a small stadium that received the support of a sizeable group of fans who went to the ground to cheer-on their team, Eibar.
The game began without problems for SD Eibar who succeeded in imposing their play on Philadelphia Fury however, the home team’s forward took advantage, when Xabi Iruretagoiena came out of his goal in an unsuccessful attempt to clear the ball, to score the first goal of the afternoon. In the final minute of the first half, a neat through ball found Borja Bastón who levelled the score.
After the restart the gunsmiths dominated the game, creating danger thanks to shots by Sergi Enrich and a Gonzalo Escalante effort, which produced a fine save from the Philadelphia side’s keeper. A game with clear occasions for Eibar who were ultimately unable to secure victory.
During half time SD Eibar and LaLiga World presented a plaque in recognition and thanks for the hospitality received from Philadelphia Fury. Furthermore, at the end of the game, Borja Bastón received the man of the match award.
