SD Eibar donate excess first-team kit to disadvantaged communities in Chile

The initiative was led by Roots Team, a Guipuzcoan organisation made up of young entrepreneurs

SD Eibar have donated part of the excess of the club's first-team kit to disadvantaged communities in Chile, with Roots Team Company, an organisation formed by a group of young Guipuzcoan entrepreneurs that has links with the University of Mondragon's Diploma in Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation (LEINN), travelling to the South American country to distribute the team's training gear.

Roots Team Company leads a range of projects and outreach activities across the Basque Country and throughout the world, with this particular initiative seeing staff travel to Chile, where they handed out Eibar kit throughout a long trip that saw them travel from Arica to Santiago and take in the Atacama Desert en route.

The aim of this partnership is to support young entrepreneurs in launching business projects, with this initiative serving to have a positive impact on the children, young people and families within the disadvantaged Chilean communities, whilst leaving an indelible mark in the form of the values represented by the SD Eibar shirt.

This particular programme came about as a result of the partnership between the SD Eibar Foundation and Roots Team Company.

The excess kit from all of the Eibar teams, as well as clothing from the online shop, is donated by SD Eibar to charity projects across the globe. In the recent past, team clothing has been sent to refugee camps in Greece and to Eibar Sports Schools in Piura (Peru) and India.
