Rubén Peña: We're raring for Friday to come around to get back in the groove

Eibar host CD Leganés in the matchday's opening fixture at Ipurua (21:00 kick-off).

Speaking today from the club's Atxabalpe training ground, Eibar's Rubén Peña insisted that the side can't wait for Friday's clash against Leganés to come around, so as to be able to "give a better account of ourselves than we did in our last game".

"Whenever we've lost games, we've usually given a good account of ourselves and competed right until the end. However, the other day at the Sánchez-Pizjuán, the game dragged on and we struggled to produce what we believe in as a side. We want to give a better account of ourselves".

When quizzed about Friday's encounter, the former Pepineros man declared that "knowing Leganés, it'll be really tough". "They're a side that makes the opposition's life difficult in every single game and it's really hard to play against those sorts of teams. They've been playing some good stuff and they always come closer to winning games than they do drawing or losing them. Although they lost the other day against Getafe, I think that they were the better side.

In terms of the part he has played in the side's opening LaLiga fixtures, Peña stated that "things are only just getting started". "As the season goes on, you'll see improved performances from Rubén Peña. You always get stronger over time."
