The Director, Mikel Larrañaga, welcomed Pedro and in front of the press explained Eibar’s values to him “I am sure that you know more glamorous dressing rooms than the one at Ipurua, but what I will stress is that at Eibar we have values such as modesty, sacrifice and coexistence. And I can guarantee that you are going to be very comfortable, above all we are going to do everything possible for you to be happy”.

The Sporting Director, Fran Garagarza, recognised the importance played by the figure of the coach in the success of the signing “The importance of José Luis Mendilibar has been crucial. To have a player like Pedro is to be congratulated on. For us it is very good news”.

Garagarza highlighted the player’s characteristics “On the three occasions I have spoken to him, I was struck by his way of being and his modesty. He is a player who is going to give us a lot of experience and expertise at dead ball situations”. Finally the Sporting Director elaborated on details of the signing “Everything that is being said is a lie, Eibar is paying what it can, and I can assure you that Pedro is as eager as ever to keep playing. You have to consider that having options that paid him much more he has chosen Eibar”.

Pedro León confirmed his desire to come to Eibar “There were other options, mainly from abroad that were very tempting financially, but I am coming to a club that is modest, unassuming, hard working and eager to grow and though it may seem that I am coming from bigger clubs, I come with a lot of hunger to do well. I have come to be with a coach I know very well and if I hadn’t had that desire to work, to do my best then I wouldn’t have come”.
