Nature of defeat is harsh on Women's first team

Recio's charges slipped to a 3-0 home reverse against San Ignacio

SD Eibar Women's first team succumbed to a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of San Ignacio in a game in which the visitors' clinical finishing proved to be the difference between the sides.

The Armeras came out all guns blazing in their first outing of the year and created several opportunities to have got their noses in front, but their efforts were repelled by Maitane Bravo in the visitors' goal.

It was San Ignacio who broke the deadlock, when on the stroke of half-time, the ball deflected off an Eibar defender and into the path of a San Ignacio forward, who finished well to make it 1-0.

The start of the second period saw the visitors dominate proceedings, whilst Eibar enjoyed all of the chances. However, the Bilbao outfit went on to double their advantage with their just their second effort of the game.

Félix Recio's side became more adventurous in an attempt to try and reduce the arrears, but their efforts came to nothing. Instead it was San Ignacio who rounded off the win, catching the Armeras up field to net their third of the game in injury time.
