Mendilibar: We head to Anoeta looking to put in a good performance and win the game

José Luis Mendilibar today insisted that his side will head to Anoeta "looking to put in a good performance and win the game".

SD Eibar do battle with Real Sociedad in the top flight's Guipuzcoan derby on Sunday at Anoeta in a 18:30 kick-off.

Mendilibar, who will announce his squad list for the trip to Anoeta tomorrow, will have to contend with the absences of the injured Yoel, Fran Rico, Iván Ramis, Pedro León and Gonzalo Escalante, whilst Dani García is ruled out through suspension.

Feeder-team midfielder Imanol Sarriegi has trained with the first team throughout this week and could well feature in the squad.

"We're a bit light in numbers in midfield.  There's nothing you can do when players aren't available, you just have to go with what you've got, train as best you can and that's all there is to it".

"It's always good to go into the international break after having put points on the board, to allow you to continue to see the bottle as being half full.  We head there looking to put in a good performance and win the game. I think that we're in with a chance of coming out on top".

When quizzed about the contrasting playing styles employed by Eibar and Real Sociedad, Mendilibar stated that "They're a bit more interested in having possession and they don't mind in what areas. We're a side that's more bothered about playing in the opposition's half and not having quite as much possession.  They're two quite contrasting styles".

"Whichever side is more faithful to their playing style will have the better chance of winning.  If they make us chase the ball and we're not able to regain possession, they'll have a better chance of getting the win. Whereas, if we manage to win the ball back in their half and make it difficult for them to play out from the back, we'll be in with a shout of winning".
