Mendilibar: Osasuna are in a bad way, but they'll be giving their all between now and the end of the season

SD Eibar face CA Osasuna on Monday at El Sadar (20:45 kick-off)

SD Eibar coach José Luis Mendilibar shared his thoughts ahead of his side's trip to CA Osasuna on Monday, with the Armeros' boss recognising that although Los Rojillos "are in a bad way, they'll be giving their all between now and the end of the season to try and stay up".

The Eibar players gathered for a video and gym session today at Ipurua, with tomorrow set to see the squad train at Atxabalpe in an 11:00 session, which will be their last workout ahead of the encounter against the Navarrans.

The Armeros' coach highlighted that the Pamplona-based outfit are certainly not enjoying the best of times at present. "They're in a bad way, they find themselves sitting bottom of the league and it'll be tough for them to stay up". Mendilibar was quick to warn of the danger that the opposition's plight represents. "I'm sure that they'll be giving their all to win their remaining games and get enough points to avoid the drop".

Mendilibar recalled the sides' meeting in the first half of the campaign, in which Osasuna emerged victorious at Ipurua. "They've won just the one La Liga game and it came against us. We're well aware of that and I hope that we get off to a good start and show intensity in our play".

The former Osasuna boss stressed that the hosts' squad "is full of honest players who are used to a battle and I don't think that'll change". Mendilibar went on to comment that, "As such, we'll need to go out and show 100% intensity to make them aware that we're there to really compete. We need to make it clear right from the off that we too will be going all out to win the game".
