Mendilibar drafts in three feeder-team players for Copa del Rey clash

The Armeros will have to overturn the first-leg 2-1 home reverse if they're to progress

José Luis Mendilibar has named three feeder-team players (Markel Areitio, Julen Azkue and Imanol Sarriegi) for tomorrow's Copa del Rey round-of-32 second-leg encounter against RC Celta at Balaídos.

Eibar will have to overturn their first-leg defeat - a 2-1 reverse at Ipurua - if they're to advance to the next round.

Joining the already sidelined Yoel, Fran Rico, Pedro León, Iván Ramis and Cristian Rivera is Asier Riesgo, who suffered a knock to his shoulder during today's training session, whilst Dani García, Gonzalo Escalante and Iván Alejo have been omitted from the squad as a precaution.

The full squad list is as follows: Dmitrović, Markel Areitio, Capa, Arbilla, Gálvez, Paulo, Lombán, Juncà, Cote, Julen Azkue, Jordán, Imanol Sarriegi, Inui, Bebé, Rubén Peña, Enrich, Kike García and Charles.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Mendilibar stated that "The Copa del Rey is a useful competition for those players who train well and have had less playing time in La Liga. It's good for them to get some competitive minutes under their belt. We had a bad result in the first leg. I would like to see us progress through a few rounds, so that everyone gets some playing time and that they're all sharp and have that target of playing. I've always thought that the Copa del Rey is useful from that point of view."

"I expected more from my team than the way we performed against Celta in our last two meetings with them. They won't alter their playing style all that much. I imagine that they'll rotate quite a number of players but they'll set up to win the game and remain in the competition."
