Mendilibar: A week ago it was as if we were down and out and now our glass is half full

The Eibar boss has named all 20 available players in his squad for tomorrow's trip to Mendizorrotza

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrow's game against Deportivo Alavés at Mendizorrotza, José Luis Mendilibar insisted that a week ago it was as if "we were down and out" and just seven days and one good result later, "now our glass is half full instead of half empty".

The Eibar coach travels to Vitoria will all 20 available players and the same squad that he named for the win over Real Betis, which included Imanol Sarriegi from the feeder team. The full squad list is as follows: Dmitrovic, Riesgo, Capa, Arbilla, Lombán, Gálvez, Paulo, Juncà, Cote, Dani García, Escalante, Jordán, Sarriegi, Alejo, Rubén Peña, Bebé, Inui, Charles, Kike García and Sergi Enrich.

"After a win you take training just as seriously as always but things are a bit happier. The players come in to training in the morning looking brighter, and when you've got a smile on your face, you train and work better. The week after a win is usually a quiet one, you try to train with the same intensity and focus and you've got a bit of a spring in your step. It was just one result. It has been good for the spirit of the squad and individual players but that's as far as it goes".

"Tomorrow's game is an important one because we're both down there. Whichever team takes the three points earns themselves a bit of breathing space. I don't see it as being a cup final. There are a lot of games to go and good and bad runs of form always come to an end. It'll be a tough game, Betis and Alavés are two totally different sides. They come into the game on the back of a poor result and performance and they'll be going all out to win at home".

Mendilibar went on to admit that the game against Betis saw his side deliver everything he was looking for: a fine performance, good vibes and the three points. "I hope that we don't get carried away and start thinking that just because we put in that sort of performance in one game that we've now made it".
