Meeting staged between the club & Federation of International Supporters' Groups

The club is set to lay on a bus for members of the supporters' group to travel to CD Vitoria's clash in Astorga

Representatives from SD Eibar and the Federation of International Supporters' Groups (FIP) came together for a meeting in which the relationship between the new board of directors and the supporters' groups was unveiled.

During the course of the meeting, the new board member reponsible for the relationship with supporters' clubs, Álex Martínez, announced that, just as is the case for first-team fixtures, the club will cover the cost of a bus to allow members of the peñas to attend the play-off final second- leg encounter to be contested by the club's feeder team, CD Vitoria, in Astorga on Saturday 24 June.

Despite the fact that the game will take place on the same day as the celebrations to mark San Juan, the patron saint of Eibar, both the groups and the club are convinced that there will be enough interest to fill a bus, with supporters returning after the game still able to enjoy the city's celebrations.

The FIP will be in charge of taking bookings from the peñas which are part of the organisation.

In attendance at the meeting, in addition to Martínez, were outgoing board member, Mikel Larrañaga; the FIP's president, Pedro Pérez; the organisation's deputy president, Igor Mayora; and the group's institutional vice-president, Mikel Porto.

Both parties ratified the agreement drawn up several months ago between the club and the FIP. Another item on the agenda was the admission of the Cologne-based Eibar Fründe Al(l)eman(n) supporters' group to the FIP and discussion of the plans for a peña in Guatamala to be granted official status in the near future.

SD Eibar and the FIP expressed a commitment to continue working together and stage meetings with a view to consolidating the Federation of International Supporters' Groups, which will benefit both the club and its fans.
