Dos Santos: I am happy to be able to defend these colours and this badge for another season

Mauro Dos Santos, a central defender with SD Eibar, has assured after renewing his contract with the gunsmiths until June 2017 that he is “very happy, very pleased to be here for another season and to defend these colours and this badge”.

“It has been a great year, with a first half to the season in which we made a difference. We dropped away a little in the second part of the campaign but our main objective was always to make sure we stayed up. I am grateful to Mendi, to Iñaki (Bea) and all the coaching staff, who gave me everything from the start, and above all the confidence of the mister, which is the most important”.

“I appreciate everything about the club. From the first moment they opened the dressing room to me. I have received a lot of affection from the people in the street, from the people at the club. This is a modest club, working with a small budget and we demonstrate that when everyone comes together as one, everything is possible”.

With regard to this season’s group of players staying in the team, the Argentinian footballer considers that “the nucleus was there from the start, we were a lot of new players and we hope to carry one with the same base. Next year we can improve and do a lot of good things”.

Coming to the end of the league, for Mauro Dos Santos, the objective of Eibar is to get more than 45 points and finish in the top ten. “We wanted to make a present of the three points to the fans (in the game against Betis). It wasn’t to be, but we got one and now we have the chance to reach 46 points”.
