Daniel Lasure has declared that Eibar will need to “fight to the end with the bit between our teeth” in order to win this Friday’s game at Ipurua (21:00 CEST) against Real Zaragoza.

Speaking at a press conference following Tuesday’s training session, player also pointed out that “all teams would like to be in our position, defending the lead”.

ON EIBAR’S POSITION ATOP THE TABLE

“This division is very difficult and, as the end of the season approaches, every team needs point to meet their objectives and that makes it more competitive, as the teams at the bottom are also pushing for points. It's very difficult to win and every point is hard to come by.”

“Fortunately, we are entering the final stretch in a privileged position and I don't think we need to be afraid, but rather embrace the responsibility and know that it's in our hands. With desire and ambition, we’ll to try to secure as many points as possible.”

“The most important thing is that we depend on ourselves. All teams would like to be in our position, defending the lead. I think it’s better to be in that position and defend the position.”

ON THE WILLINGNESS TO COMPETE

“Often, the explanation for why teams are near the top is their ability to compete and how united they are as a group in difficult moments. The team that is able to bounce back and come out on top when facing complex situations is the one that has the best chance of staying at the top.”

“We would be mistaken to look at the medium term. The whole team is focused solely on Friday's game against Real Zaragoza, when we have to fight to the death, with the bit between our teeth, to try to win. We can’t look beyond Friday's game.”

ON PLAYING AT HOME AT IPURUA

“Playing at home, with your fans, is always different and gives you a boost. It makes a difference and we’ve seen that in the last few games. We're getting a lot of points and that's partly because of understanding what’s required when playing there. You know the pitch, the dimensions. All of that helps and it's the fortress we need.”

“The key is to start like we usually do at Ipurua, very strong from the start with the intention of going out to win, to be aggressive in attack and defence and to take the initiative.”

“We can't ask any more of the fans, we're extremely grateful for all the support we have, for the amount of people who come out every other weekend to support us. There’s also the fans who travel away from home, which is invaluable and a tremendous force that encourages us to keep picking up points.”

ON FACING HIS FORMER CLUB

“It will be a very special and emotional match for me because I was there for many years. We will have a special motivation to win, but not because of the opponent as it’s because of what we are playing for. There’s not long to go and every game is a tremendous extra motivation.”

“Real Zaragoza are a very solid, well-balanced team, who compete well. They've gone many games without losing, they've been scoring a lot in the last two to three months. They’re a compact team who will surely come with desire and motivation to play at the home of the leaders. They'll come with motivation, with little to lose and I'm sure we'll be able to stand up to them and show why we're at the top.”

“Personally, I’m doing well and I’m happy. I've come to a team that is in the lead and that has a very united group, very solid, and where things are going very well. Having the opportunity to participate as I have done over the last month makes me very happy and motivated for what's to come.”
