Kike uses the training session against Real Sociedad to début with two goals
Eibar won 2-3 in Zubieta with two goals by Kike García and one by Saúl in an intense encounter
This morning Eibar and Real Sociedad ended the week-long league break with an intense training match played behind closed doors on the z7 pitch at Zubieta, that concluded in a 2-3 victory for the armeros with two goals by Kike García and one by Saúl Berjón.
Kike, who is unable to play any official games until next season, had the opportunity to make good on his work in training and vindicate himself as a goal-scorer, with two strikes in the first game that he has played wearing the shirt of SD Eibar. The other goal was scored by Saúl, who hasn’t played for many minutes in recent games but has demonstrated his nose for goal and staked a claim to be given more chances in the final stage of the league.
Mendilibar’s team also included in the line-up players from the affiliate Club, CD Vitoria like Gayoso, Ortega and Sarriegi.
The first goal of the game was scored by Carlos Vela but Saúl restored parity almost immediately, placing a shot from inside the area after a good pass from Izet Hajrovic.
The second half began with another two good goals. Kike García put the armeros ahead with a potent right foot shot into the corner of the net following an assist from Jota and Rubén Pardo made it 2-2.
The final goal of the game arrived in the 59th minute, and was also the work of Kike García, with a low shot from a pass by Escalante.
Following this game, the squad of SD Eibar will enjoy three days’ rest until Tuesday, 29 March, when the team will return to training in Atxabalpe to begin preparation for the game against Villareal (Ipurua, Sunday, 3 April at 18:15 h).
